ALL HANDS ON DECK FOR THIS ROLLOUT!
As a company built on a firm foundation of restaurant design, Interplan is truly in its sweet spot with QSR development programs like this Popeyes national rollout program. Over our many years in working with Popeyes, we have partnered with several key franchisees in the Popeyes system and became their preferred architecture and engineering team. While the majority of the 322 projects were ground up prototype site adapts, we also completed many remodels, conversions, as well as developed a new prototype.
On the majority of the Popeyes projects we completed, we were able to provide our full suite of in house services. This was very beneficial for the franchisees who then only had to deal with a single firm for the full range of services we provided including Civil Engineering, Architecture, MEP Engineering, and Permitting services. By having a single source, the daily coordination in one office allowed for better communication and collaboration. Whether that was the permitting team working hand in hand with our civil team as they reviewed the Site Investigation Reports completed on each site, or having our MEP team working literally shoulder to shoulder with our architectural team. It was all hands on deck for sure!
ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS.
When executing a prototype site adapt, much of the design work has been addressed already within the prototype set. What is most important during the design and permitting process however, is coordinating the site utility locations, coordinating with the civil engineers, and understanding any unique design and permitting requirements the local municipalities have in place. Having a design team that understands this, and caters to it with their services, is crucial to the success of a program rollout of this caliber.
